Why should this program be part your my camp or holiday program?

What better place to equip kids with social competence, than at camp?

Social skills have in the past been seen as a by-product of other camp experiences, through activities that promoted self-confidence and teamwork - like rope and rock-climbing, for example.  We assumed that children were learning social competence at home, through religion, and at school.  The reality today is that more often than not the child is being exposed to these ideals only at "special event" institutions, like camps and holiday programs.

Don't fight it - use it!

As a camp organizer or administrator you are more likely to achieve your goal of promoting social competence if you subscribe to a systematic approach based on social science and educational research, rather than hoping the issues will be addressed simply by chance.

The camp program is a user-friendly tool that you can use to work towards your objective.
